The aim is to raise<br>global awareness about the HIV\/AIDS pandemic, honour those affected, and unite in the fight<br>against the disease, promoting prevention, treatment, and care for all who are affected and infected. With the first celebration observed in 1988, today the day marks broader attention to issues related to HIV in South Africa, including increasing awareness to TB, disabilities and Gender Based Violence. At King\u2019s Hope, the day continues to be marked annually recognising the realities communities experience on the ground.
