The initiative was aimed increasing revenue for the organisation while empowering disadvantaged women in our support group through skills development and sustained economic opportunities.<br>While a coordinator was appointed to oversee the programme in mid 2024, the expansion to empower support group members was initiated in April 2025. This was to stabilise the programme first and ensure that the risk of loss of chicks is reduced before new people were introduced.<br><br><strong>Programme Activities<\/strong><br>There was much enthusiasm as initial members of the support group were enrolled in the training which was conducted by a qualified broiler specialist. Kings Hope prioritised women led households to benefit as they face most economic hardships. Their training includes the following :<br>i. Understanding the broiler production life cycle and lifespan.<br>ii. Maintaining the housing environmentcleaning and keeping within the right temperature at all times.<br>iii. Nutritional needs for different life cycles of the chicks.<br>iv. Good welfare of chicks is taken care of by preventing contamination and checking their wellbeing.<br><br><strong>Our Call<\/strong><br>The chicken broiler programme offers more than economic opportunities. It is a bridge to a brighter future for women, some of whom need the skill to break free from economic dependance on male partners. This may reduce the abuse some women face. We look forward to learning together and<br>transforming lives, one woman at a time! We invite you to place orders and support locally<br>raised chicken.
