In 2024, Kings Hope Development Foundation receive

In 2024, Kings Hope Development Foundation received funding to start a chicken broiler programme. The initiative was aimed increasing
revenue for the organisation while empowering disadvantaged women in our support group through skills development and sustained economic
opportunities. While a coordinator was appointed to oversee the programme in mid 2024, the expansion to empower support group members was initiated in April 2025. This was to stabilise the programme first and ensure that the risk of loss of chicks is reduced before new people were introduced.

King’s Hope partnered with two local organisations namely; Msamu and Cosup, in a door to door awareness campaign with the youth as the target group. This initiative aims to educate, empower and engage the youth in meaningful discussions round
their health options. Given the negative health and social impact of STI’s and teenage pregnancy on the youth, the
team focused on offering both the youth and adolescents in the hair salons correct information on STI’s to help them understand and take responsibility for their sexuality while reducing the rate of unwanted pregnancies.

Our Story

King’s Hope was established as a faith-based organisation in 2002. Initially the organisation provided food to the hungry and home-based care to those living with HIV and AIDS. Kings Hope ran an in-patient unit providing end-of-life care for several years. However, this focus changed in 2004 when the South African Government started providing ART (Anti-Retro viral Therapy) and there need to focus on terminal care decreased.
